Grass Fed, Corn Finished for Quality Flavor

Our Black Angus cattle are grass-fed and corn finished to provide the necessary marbling for quality, rich flavor.  We provide all of our cattle with fresh grass, even when supplementing their diet with corn, through our practice of daily rotational grazing.

Interested in Purely Grass-Fed Beef?

Let us know!  We do have some steers that have been purely raised and fattened on grass forage.  If demand for purely grass-fed beef is sufficient, we can continue to offer this option.

Rotational Grazing

Not only does daily rotational grazing provide our cattle with daily fresh grass and other benefits, it also aids us in being good stewards of the land.

Daily Rotational Grazing:

  • Reduces overgrazing which decreases soil erosion as well as pesticide/fertilizer runoff

  • Decreases the need for fertilizers through even manure distribution

  • Increases long-term pasture quality and fertility= increase in forage production

  • Decreases cattle exposure to microorganisms that they might otherwise be exposed to in confined areas

Low Stress Cattle Handling

We believe in implementing humane practices such as low stress cattle handling for the well being of our livestock.

Reducing Stress:

  • Is safer for livestock

  • Is safer for the handler

  • Results in more manageable herds

  • Improves productivity such as faster weight gain, less disease, and fewer injuries

You can read more about these benefits in the Virginia Cooperative Extension publication, "Low Stress Cattle Handling."
