FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT PURCHASING OUR BEEF

  • HOW CAN I FIGURE UP A TOTAL ESTIMATED COST?
TOTAL COST TO CUSTOMER= Live Weight of Animal x $2.00/lb (Paid to HHF) + Processing Cost (Paid to Processor) The cost for the animal is based off of a target whole live animal weight of approximately 1,200 lbs. The live weight is taken the day before hauling the animal to the processor. You will receive an invoice with your balance owed to HHF after the animal has been weighed. Processing costs are based on the hanging weight (60% of the live weight) and vary by processor. Please email or message us on Facebook for an estimate!
  • HOW MUCH MEAT SHOULD I EXPECT?
A 1,200 lbs. animal (our target weight) will yield approximately 400 lbs. of freezer meat. This will require a MINIMUM freezer space of 16 cu. ft. These figures can be used to estimate half and quarter options.
